Peru San Martin cacao mass smells like cinnamon! The cacao beans are sourced from small farmers. The San Martin region is covered with many mountains, ranging from 300-900 meters above sea level, where various local communities live. A challenging terrain for traditional farming, but perfect for cacao!

Where It’s Grown
The cooperative we work with in San Martin sources cacao from 120 producers. Each producer typically has around 2 hectares of land. The cooperative itself employs 47 full-time workers, 20 of whom are women.
Cacao Variety
Criollo - one of the rarest cacao varieties in the world (only about 5% compared to other cacao varieties). Known for its strong aroma.
Recommended Cacao Serving Sizes
- 10 - 15 g - Light cacao drink, suitable for daily use
- 25 - 35 g - Medium-strength cacao drink
- 35 - 40 g - Strong cacao drink, ideal for cacao ceremonies
1 tsp of ground cacao = 5 g
How to prepare cacao (for one cup):
- 10 - 30 g / 2 - 5 teaspoons of ground cacao
- ¾ cup of hot water
- A splash of plant-based milk
- Your preferred sweetener (optional)
Place all ingredients into a blender and blend for 1 minute.
